At Westerly Public Schools, it is our belief that good school attendance is necessary in order for students to fully take advantage of the benefits that the school has to offer. In addition, the State Department of Education has issued clear guidelines for attendance that we must follow.
Dear SES Community:
This year has been absolutely amazing! It's difficult to grasp that it's come to an end. As we finish the school year today, I want to express how impressed I am by the students, families, faculty and staff in countless ways.
I have had frequent conversations with some of you while others I did not have that opportunity. Some have shared moments of joy, bringing laughter to your interactions. Meanwhile, some have bravely opened up about heartbreaking experiences, moving me to tears. Many of you have poured your thoughts and feelings into your work. And there are those who have courageously faced their fears, taking steps towards achieving their dreams and goals.
This year, some of you have filled me with immense pride. There have been moments of frustration, but only because I believe in you and want you to recognize the potential I see in each and every one of you.
This year, some of you have had personal revelations. Some have stepped up as leaders. Others have shown exceptional skills in assisting others. While some are still navigating to find their distinct path in the world and that is perfectly fine as well!
Each of you has made strides in various ways, and that is what counts the most!
Before you finish this final day of school before summer break, write yourself a note to read on the first day back next year. Capture your current emotions. Reflect on ALL your achievements this year and areas where you want to grow. Establish a few guidelines for
yourself for the upcoming year - explain why each rule is important. Remember, Ms. Enck believes in you! Revisit your letter in August and display it where you can see it. Next year will bring its own challenges and concerns, so following your own advice will be crucial.
Above all, have faith in yourself. I know you will do great things which are essential for achieving the remarkable things destined for your life. Stop limiting yourself. Do not allow fear to hinder your progress. Empower yourself to achieve greatness. Grant yourself the
opportunity to improve. Allow yourself to excel! Give yourself permission to succeed, even when others may doubt it’s possible.
IT IS ACHIEVABLE!
BELIEVE IN IT!
STRIVE FOR IT!
Please be sure to tell me what you accomplish!
I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be here at Springbrook Elementary with all of you.
Thank you for a great year! Enjoy the summer break, see you in the Fall!
